GM 4-Speed OD RWD Transmission
1981-1990
Production of the 2004R Buick/Olds/Pontiac overdrive transmission
began in 1981 and ended in 1990. Similar to the 700R4, the 2004R
has a unique multi-fit case which will allow it to bolt to most any
GM smallblock engine.
The GM 2004R was used in several GM applications, notably the
Grand National, Caprice, Regal, and other Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac
applications.
The 2004R is a great transmission swap for muscle car restorations
and for drag racing applications that want to retain overdrive.
